AIRCHECKS
A WORK IN PROGRESS
This section of the site is dedicated to preserving some of the best radio ever heard in Los Angeles.
The files are in .mp3 format and you will need one of the compatible players (below) to hear them.
Audio on-the-web is a time intensive and space sensitive issue, so please be patient.
As new airchecks arrive we will put them up as soon as possible.
Send your airchecks to airchecks@710kmpc.com
or just send us and e-mail to make arrangements to send us a CD or tape.

December 23, 1983 This aircheck is from the 7-8am hour and is a good example of just how much Christmas meant to Robert W. Morgan. Both his story of how the first Angel came to be on top of the Christmas tree and Big John McElhinney's telling of "The Little Red Sled" are highlights of this very special holiday show. Christmas - 1970's
This was one of those spots on (or just
before) Christmas day when the sponsors suspend their usual recorded ads
in favor of a nice holiday message read by the DJ. In this case,
Gary apparently didn't know who the sponsor was until after he started
reading the copy. Needless to say, when he realized that he just
said all these sweet things about the holiday and then saw that he was
"selling" Preparation H, he lost it. I don't recall what
year it was, but I sure know that it became a regular on his
pre-Christmas shows for many years thereafter. I remember tuning
in just to hear it again. Funny thing is, now that I can listen to
it any time I want. . . I still never get tired of it! - Art
